The Legacy of Henry A. Bromelkamp, President Emeritus
Henry began his professional journey working at the IBM Development Laboratory in Rochester, Minnesota where his work focused on developing a software he developed for Arts Councils; eventually adopted by more than half the state arts agencies in the United States. Over time, his work expanded to other grantmakers, specifically focused on the work of foundations. As the original developer of Pearl Software, he was a key member of the development team and instrumental in the vision of today’s solution, akoyaGO.
In 2019, Henry suffered a tragic accident forcing him to step down from the business to focus on his recovery. He continues to receive occupational and physical therapy. Meanwhile, he left a clear path forward for the company.
Henry remains passionate about philanthropic work and is involved in Minneapolis Rotary Club 9, Action for Children Zambia, Books for Africa, Africa Classroom Connection (Founder), CARE, St. Steven’s Human Services, and Spirit of St. Steven’s Catholic Community.
